We’re pleased to share a recent magazine article by longtime angler/author, Scott Haugen, who has been coming to fish coho salmon with us on Alaska’s Egegik River for many year. Thanks to Alaska Sporting Journal for the wonderful layout, and even a beautiful cover shot of a silver salmon taken with us on the Egegik River.

This year Becharof Lodge on the Egegik River is under new management with George Joy and Mark Korpi, and we’d like to thank former owners, Bruce and Lisa Hallingstad, for their years of dedicated work. This couple worked hard for many years to establish a fun, affordable Alaskan fishing experience, and to them and their efforts, we are very grateful. Until you see this remote camp in the middle of Alaska’s paradise, it’s hard to fully understand how much effort goes in to creating such a place. Bruce and Lisa, we thank you and we are excited to continue building the world-class salmon fishing adventures you dedicated so many years to creating.

August and early September is prime time for coho fishing with us on Alaska’s Egegik River. We also embark upon many remote flyout fishing adventures for Arctic grayling, char, rainbow trout, and more. We cater to gear anglers, bait fishermen, and fly and Spey anglers. And we specialize in some of the world’s be brown bear viewing. With all this in mind, enjoy Scott Haugen’s latest article on fishing with us in Alaska, and we hope to share a fishing hole with you one day soon!
