For over three decades Scott Haugen has been salmon fishing in Alaska. With the decline in king salmon fishing in recent years, Haugen has made an effort to raise awareness about coho, or silver salmon, fishing in Alaska, and his top fishery to promote has been the Egegik River. Remote, easy to fish multiple ways, and unmatched beauty, are just a few of the things that keeps bringing Haugen back to Becharof Lodge on the Egegik River.

If you’d like to fish alongside Scott Haugen on the Egegik River, he’ll be in our camp all of August, 2020, helping guide anglers and leading photo tours to Brooks Falls, in search of the world’s largest brown bears. Enjoy this magazine article by Scott Haugen which ran in Salmon, Trout, Steelheader magazine, and we hope you can one day come fishing with us in this special part of Alaska.
